Oh. Big snake chose the top of my toolbox to shed its skin. No idea why.
Probably a bull snake, they’re most common. And harmless to me but not to the rats that infest the powershed, so they’re always welcome. But this one did kind of take liberties with my hospitality. 🙂

How long does it take for a snake to shed its skin?
Depending on the size and the health of the snake anywhere from 15 min.to more than a hour. I had a 15’ Australian carpet python that would shed every five to six weeks and took around a half hour to shed perfectly intact skins
