sat weird news above fold
I always used to say, If you want a cup of cream and sugar, make yourself a cup of cream and sugar. Don’t spoil good coffee with it.

Same goes for bourbon. If you want a glass of Coke, go ahead but please, please don’t ruin a nice double shot of fine bourbon in the process.

My father was in the Navy (Korea). He was taught to drink his coffee black. No time to mix in cream/milk/sugar/whatever when battle-stations is being called. He taught me. Now, I like mine the same way (as long as it’s GOOD coffee …).

Came over from Claire’s. Thanks for the use!

  3. Ben says:

That figures ExpatNJ: In the navy there is ALWAYS coffee, but not always cream and sugar. Sailors learn to drink it black.

Based on personal experience, sounds correct

Same thing I learned in the Army. It always amazed me that there might not be food, ammo, dry socks, etc. but there was ALWAYS black coffee (at 211degrees of course). Maybe Scotty beamed it down to us!
