Don’t it always seem to go…

So every day for the past few I’ve been scrambling around trying to get stuff done, racing storm clouds. Today I had some things to do outdoors in the morning: Some caulking – because this time of year there’s always some caulking, a whole bunch of laundry which had to be done early to take advantage of what little sunshine ensued, a little bit of running around, and then I was going to spend the whole rainy afternoon on the book. I figured the only thing that could stop me was a big afternoon storm, which was possible, because I don’t use the ‘pooter during thunderstorms.

And I did indeed do my chores and work on the book like a good boy. The universe rewarded me with this…

That’s the view right outside my window. No storms blew in. No clouds blew in. It’s not hot or muggy. This is the first unabashedly gorgeous day we’ve had since Monsoon started. And I spent the bulk of it sitting right here. Glad I got the laundry done, anyway.

I did cross 45K words, though, so progress is again being made. And now the boys and I are going to take a nice Jeep ride in the unaccustomed sunshine, and tend Landlady’s chickens.
