Oh, my goodness. Speaking of Little Bear…

I was just giving his face a good rub when I noticed something I’ve been waiting for…

Look who’s getting gray on his muzzle!

He was born in early March 2009, so he’s pushing 9 years old. Doesn’t seem so long…

I’m betting he doesn’t slow down much, now that you got his weight more-or-less under control.

They age fast once they hit that final approach. Speaking of canines, how’s Ghost?

  3. Joel says:

LB hasn’t shown any sign of slowing down specifically. He can run and jump as well as ever, though he’s much better on the leash than in the first few years. I don’t know and often wonder if that’s a function of age or just understanding that he can’t fight the leash.

As for Ghost, he hasn’t long to live. He really doesn’t seem to be enjoying life much anymore.

Grey on the muzzle is something we all get eventually. Enjoy all the time you have with LB, one never knows when things will drastically change. As for Ghost I’m sorry to hear that he’s on that slippery slope. It’s gonna be hard for landlady but you guys are strong.

My 8 year old lab/dachshund now has a very impressive case of 5 o’clock shadow.
