   Only 81 outside here this afternoon. 76 inside the office. Only a box fan going, mostly because I like moving air. 🙂 We’ve had some days in the 90s this year already, and expect more so I’ve put up the air conditioner in the office this year, first time in at least three years.

   I do remember many days well above 100 degrees when we lived on base in Barstow, CA. No coolers or A/C for the common folk in the 50s, of course, so we (those not working) spent lots of time at the park in the summer. No trees or plants of any kind around the barrack buildings that had been converted to family quarters… but there were trees and grass at the park, and a small swimming pool. The park closed at sunset, however, so we’d go home and wrap ourselves in wet sheets, sitting out on the cement pad behind the barracks hoping for a breeze… wetting it down with a hose if we thought we could get away with it. There were water use restrictions even back then.

   Not fun…
