Ian brought up a replica of an FP-45 Liberator, a gun many of us have seen but few have had the ‘pleasure’ of shooting. Got a little bit of video, which will end up on his Youtube channel in the fullness of time.
Ian did point out that the glove was cheating. To which I replied, “Yes it is.”

Scary Manifesto that keeps getting pushed down on the sidebar by filthy capitalism!
They say that Louis XIV had the inscription Ultima Ratio Regum cast into all the cannon of the French Army. It means “The Ultimate Argument of Kings,” and that always struck me as one of the most honest and up-front things any ruler or would-be ruler ever said. “We can dress it up prettier than this, but when it comes down to the unvarnished truth this is what it’s about: You’ll do as I say or I’ll send my goons to kill you.”
I thought about that for a long time. If there’s an ultimate argument, it seems only logical that there must be an ultimate answer. For years I thought the ultimate answer must be the bullets in my rifle, but it never seemed quite right. I’ve got bullets – he’s got frigging Cannon Balls. I mean, if there were three hundred million rifles throwing bullets at him, then maybe. But we all know that’s not going to happen. So if there’s an ultimate answer to his ultimate argument, it sure as hell ain’t bullets.
It finally came to me – and that’s when I abandoned the city and most of my stuff, and gave all that was behind me a good stiff Randian Shrug.
The ultimate answer to kings is not a bullet, but a belly laugh.

“Interesting”.
😉
As I understand it, the Liberator was intended as a throw-away gun. Shoot Jerry in the head with it, then take *his* gun.
Yeah, but I don’t think they were ever actually airdropped into Europe. I read one article that said some were used in Asia. I would imagine the most important thing to know about Filipinos – (Buck can check me here) – Filipinos are not Frenchmen. Give a Filipino a gun and a Japanese soldier and there’s a very good chance the gun will be fired into the soldier.
Here’s Ian describing the gun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CjndIiZyJo
I had to chuckle at the thinking of the engineer/management calling the parts non-gun names. Yea, right. Most everybody knew what they were building. Among themselves they called the parts what they really were and remembered to call them the ‘PC’ terms in front of management. Ah…the silliness of the factory floor. Glad I’m retired.
Recoil appears to be rather ‘brisk’ ? I don’t blame you for wearing a glove, Man is the Tool User and hurting them is a handicap.
Ian sorta forgot to mention that there is a little trap-door thingie on the bottom of the grip allowing for the storage of a half-dozen or so cartridges. This is not a magazine that feeds rounds into the chamber, just a storage provision.
Air drop ’em into Detroit?
You get to play with the coolest toys from “rat patrol” jeep mounted GPMG’s to this. You win, I’m jealous.
