Wind came up so we didn’t quite finish…

We set up the target stage yesterday afternoon and tested the new hardware…

…and then spent a couple of hours in the sun shooting guns and video of guns. Fun! I’m in the wrong business; we went through more ammo in two hours than I do in two years.

Took some snapshots when I wasn’t working…

…and now the old man is ready for lunch and a sit. Hope to finish up in the morning when it’s still again.

That looks like a lot of fun! I haven’t been out target practicing in ages.

  2. Tennessee Budd says:

If I get reincarnated, I want to be Ian McCollum.

As I commented on your last post Joel, colour me jealous. I really want to visit our range and bust some caps but thanks to COVID-19 the range is still closed.

  4. Jim Price says:

When Ian leaves, will the targets be going with him? Or will you be “the caretaker” of the targets?

  5. Joel says:

The targets are staying, but not at the range. The whole thing is at the edge of a wash, well inside an area that violently flooded 2 and 3 years ago. Plus they might be attractive nuisances to passing scroungers. “Trust but verify” would be my motto, if I started having a motto and if I can leave out the part about trust. The older more makeshift targets are cemented into the silt, tied to a tree, and not of as much monetary value so they’re permanent but the commercial targets will go into storage until Ian comes back.

  6. Paul Joat says:

I wouldn’t want to leave any of the targets with moving parts out in the weather and sand.
