I did something I haven’t done in YEARS…
I went to a gun show.
Okay, full disclosure: There are two reasons I haven’t attended the local annual gun show in a very long time: It’s extremely poorly advertised, so I usually see the sign the Monday after the weekend when it ran, and by ANY gun show standards it’s incredibly pathetic and hardly worth anybody’s time.
Scored a box of commercial .44 Special, though, so maybe the market in revolver ammo is finally coming back.
Gun shows are fun. You never know what will be on sale inside until you enter the door. Around here, there are a few local gun shows, but I’m just not comfortable with all the CCTV recording the people entering and leaving, especially if I buy something. There’s a big gun show each fall at the International Centre in Toronto. I used to attend it, but these days having to run a gauntlet of protesters, just to get into the parking lot, is too much of a pain.
