NOOO! Say it isn’t so…

How could they do this to me? How? Trader Joe’s! How much have I ever asked of you?

This stuff has been getting me out of bed all through this century! Why go on???

If you’ll excuse me, I need a few moments to work through my grief. I don’t promise to do as well as Homer…

We’ll be experimenting with different blends for a while. I can’t assume that life will ever be quite the same, but no doubt there’s a new normal in there somewhere…

coffee

Perhaps I should take this as opportunity? Only yesterday I was thinking of perusing blackriflecoffee.com. Never tried it…

ETA: Ouch. At more than a buck an ounce I’m going to go right on never having tried it.

I don’t drink much coffee, but when I do it’s cheap convenience store swill. So my opinion is worth about the value of a stale can of 20 year old Folgers.

    But…

Black Rifle has some awesome videos. And they don’t really care about the whole social/environmental impact, which is just frigging great for me. If I drank coffee, I’d probably try their stuff.

How was the Duncan Donuts coffee?

  3. Joel says:

Good, as I remember, thanks. Used to be my favorite coffee, but I’ve moved to darker blends since then.

  4. Ahem. Seems the whole “amor fati” thing didn’t take long to go out the window.

  5. Joel says:

Quiet dignity and grace, that’s me. Yup.

  6. HOLY FREAKING CRAP. Followed the link to Black Rifle Coffee and saw a spotlight on Matt Melancon. He was in my son’s infantry unit on my son’s second combat deployment in Iraq (Matt’s first). Matt went on later to Afghanistan and got his legs blown up. Couple years after our son got out and was having some severe PTSD issues, The Wife reached out asking if any of his old Army buddies could call. Matt literally SHOWED UP THE NEXT day from across the country. Said he always hated our son when they first met because he wanted to be like him. Most positive guy I’ve ever met. Small world at The Gulch!

    Cool! 🙂

The Honduran is my favorite of the Trader Joe’s coffees.
