   Set out a solar panel to charge a battery and set out the sun oven to preheat just because it was sunny. Didn’t take too long for the sky here to look like your sky. Oh, well.

   Now that you have had it a while, how satisfied are you with the new charge controller, particularly on sub-par days? In the fall, I do a couple of weeks boondocking in my small trailer, with two batteries and a 100 watt panel. Since I am in northern Wisconsin, sub-par days happen frequently.

   Sub-par days are when the new controller shines. Yesterday was cloudy almost throughout the entire day but the batteries still went into Float before mid-day. Wouldn’t have happened with the old PWM controller. On bright sunny days the old controller was perfectly adequate. This is the desert and we get a lot of bright sunny days. Anyplace with a lot of actual weather, I think you’d notice a huge difference.
