And that’s why I dragged that old wagon home and refurbed it…

The kitchen stove I got back in early ’21 forced me to re-think how I use the oven because the oven igniter is such an amazing electricity hog. But the other side of that coin is that the lack of a 24/7 pilot light saved me an amazing amount of propane – far more than I would have guessed. So I need to haul around big propane bottles for the kitchen stove a lot less often than I used to. And when I do…

I’ve got wheels to put it on now. Which, given the state of my knees – and my shoulders – and my general state of health over the summer – is a very lucky piece of scrounging.

Funny thing is: When Neighbor D offered to give me this old wagon as a trade for helping her assemble her new one, I thought she was making a very bad trade. Her new one is smaller and flimsier. I thought she’d end up wanting her old wagon back but I was very wrong. She hasn’t stopped singing its praises. Her new smaller wagon lets her wheel water bottles right through the house and up to the pantry where she stores them, where before we needed to either carry them through or wheel them all the way around the (large) house. So she knew what she was doing.

    Nice score on the wagon.
Farm&Fleet one mile from me has them on sale $30 off. Out of stock, of course. I can order on-line at the sale price but it must be delivered; picking it up at the store is not allowed. One mile away… The delivery fee makes the total cost $10 more than the regular price and they’ve NEVER had it in stock. Sigh.
    Good to see you back.

I’ve got one of those wagons. One of the best investments I ever made!
I do wish I had learned from the old adage,
work smarter not harder when I was younger then maybe I wouldn’t be in the shape I’m in now.

Not sure of the brand but the stove the ladies of our household bought while I was in the nursing home for a few months in 2020 has infighters all hooked to batteries so no significant power draw and of course no pilot lights!

A 2nd to Hammers comment above, why the power draw when off? Seems strange. Some sort of short maybe,

If nothing else, a switch in the hot line so you can turn it off ‘off’ might save you power.

Spell check got me that is igniters!

I prefer to use a hand truck to mobilize heavy stuff.

Oh, Hammer, I know the feeling about spell check. It gets me all the time if I’m not careful. 😊

Joel, that garden cart sure is coming in handy. It’s nice to have the tools to get the job done, whatever the job is.

Yeah, it proved unexpectedly useful with my generator earlier. I expected to only use it for propane bottles but clearly it’s the sort of thing that would have made life easier a long time ago.
