You might recall a week ago, when we learned that InrangeTV, responding to censorious things going on at YouTube, had moved gun videos to Pornhub. Seemed a little weird, but what the hell? It’s a weird world.
Weirder than I knew, it seems…
BREAKING NEWS: PornHub Bans Gun Videos
In recent weeks, we at MindGeek have experienced an unexpected increase in traffic on one of our sites; PornHub. This increase in traffic can be cited to the specific search queries of ‘guns’ and ‘firearms.’
You’re welcome.
The MindGeek group has labored tirelessly for many years to produce and erect a foundation of quality content for a specific group of customers. We do not believe this new segment of unique visitors is a part of that group we have pushed to acquire.
And now you’re getting them for free. Again, no thanks needed.
As a result, starting today, our media team will be removing all channels and video content related, but not limited to the terms ‘guns’ and ‘firearms.’
We would like to take this opportunity to apologize to any of our long standing customers who may have felt offended or bothered by the influx of recent content. The problem shall soon be rectified.
Let me get this straight. People come to your site to watch videos of other people pissing on each other, and you’re concerned they’re going to be offended by the sight of a gun?

You folks need to work on your priorities.
ETA: Uncle Joel might have gotten caught by an April Fool’s joke.

I am unable to come up with enough 4-letter words to adequately describe the Mindgeek Group. I will work on this, but am confident I will continue to come up short.
The “gunny” side of the culture needs to develop its own solution to this, as well as other situations.
RFN.
The “gunny” side of the culture needs to develop its own solution to this
That would be full30.com.
Meh, seemed like a pretty weird pairing anyway. I mean it’s not exactly a general-focus site, nor is it called “GunHub”. Their response makes it sound like they’re not hurting for customers. Somehow I’m not surprised.
This was always a shock move and now it’s run its course. Norman is right, the community needs to develop its own solution. From the sound of things there should be more than enough of a market to support it.
I’m sure the creative folks at Linux or Monzilla could come up with a better platform than you-tube if they just lifted their collective pinky finger. I would even contribute.
It would be, if anybody went there to watch gun videos. Ian and Kurt both say their numbers there are nearly negligible.
In the comments section of the article, a post identified as being from a TFB Editor stated “April fool’s.” As of 3 pm AZ time, videos from InRange are available for streaming on PornHub.
The email came out late, but the article was posted on April 1th. Pornhub loves the guns and boobs both
Oh? Really? It’s an April Fool’s joke? Shit, I almost never fall for those.
I can kinda see the connection between a porn site and guns.
“This is my rifle, this is my gun,
This one’s for fighting, this one’s for fun…”
;^P
It would be, if anybody went there to watch gun videos.
Possibly because no one had heard of it before last week? I certainly hadn’t. With YouTube making gun-folk persona non grata, perhaps their numbers will perk up.
Don’t feel too bad, Joel. You weren’t the only one fooled.
Blush . . .
I’ve tried Full30, PornHub has faster servers, even BitChute works better for me.
