Why am I not surprised that entire police departments can be suckered in by mall ninja “gear?”
“Dig my balaclava? It’s tactical. $4.99 at Wal-mart, but it looks just like the real thing, I think. No I need to wear it for the camera, because otherwise evildoers will learn my secret identity and target my loved ones. I have responsibilities outside the uniform, you know.”

Lighted gloves, yet. Hmmm, I guess they don’t expect anyone to shoot back, for real and true… or they might not make themselves such tempting targets…
I’d like to find out just when not getting injured, scared or even discomforted became the number one priority of each and every mister policeman? What happened to protect and serve? Guess they all joined the fire dept.
Now, what happens if they need light in the direction they are looking, rather than in the direction their hands/fists are pointing? Wouldn’t it be much better to have large lamps mounted to their helmets (cause they all have to wear helmets these days) with an interlock switch that forces the light on anytime the safety on their weapon(s) is(are) off? Purely for the purposes of officer safety.
Has nothing to do with MamaLiberty’s comment above.
Honest!
😛
Now they will be able to decide whether that baby is holding a gun or a pacifier!
Like that would matter.

That’s what the flashbangs they toss in first are for. Well, that and because roasted babies are “tasty with thyme and root veg.”
Sorry. That was in… poor taste.
I like JimBob’s headlamp suggestion. The lights could have concentric circles of red and white LEDS, switch selectable for first-click max light all LEDs lit, second-click red circles for night-vision saving mode, and third click for white only.
Yes, Bear… very poor… The baby thing still makes me sick to my stomach each time I think of it, never mind if I see the picture. The criminals who did that need to be hunted down and put down like the rabid dogs they are. Sorry… I just can’t say it any other way.
This crap won’t stop until the perpetrators begin to pay for it, personally, and in their own blood.

Agreed – maybe after we start seeing a lot more reports like this?
