Does TUAK need a logo?

Regular commenter MJR sent me a couple of presents yesterday. I never really considered whether TUAK needs a logo, but do appreciate the thought.

  1. Not as far as I’m concerned…. just more to scroll down from. Your header looks just fine to me as it is. 🙂

  2. Wolfman says:

I like it. If you just glance at that font, of course, it appears to be a very coarse word; this is either a feature or a bug, depending on one’s mood.

  3. joe in reno says:

Like everything else, it needs a dog. Preferably with the rear leg lifted! {;>)

  4. Bailey says:

Ditto what wolfman said. The “T” looks sort of like an “F”, and the “A” has the right shape to be a “C”. The U and the K are even in the right places.

If it were mine, I would use a different font, or spell the slogan out, or something.

If you add the dog, he should be targeting a deluded narcissist or some other “majestic” figure, but now you are looking at artwork that requires talent and skill and stuff, not to mention that the whole thing gets a lot busier.

other random thoughts: add a dunce cap, a jeering and pointing jester, some Groucho glasses, a blunderbuss with a flag out the end saying “ha ha”, or any other icons of slapstick humor.

I don’t really think of Joel as a long gun sort of guy, so two of them on a logo might be a bit much. I like Bailey’s and Joe’s ideas of comic touches though!

While designing a logo was a kind and thoughtful idea from MJR, and fine tuning his creation makes a fun group project, in the end I think that MamaLiberty might have it right. We don’t really need more things to scroll past to get to Joel’s content.

  6. billf says:

The proposed logo is OK,but the rifles need to be an AK and an AR,and the beverage should be bourbon.

  7. About the possible misunderstanding due to the ornate script … I think it’s fine just the way it is. Let the leader sort it out; it says more about the reader than about the design. Plus, I misread it the first time, too … so now you know where my mind runs.
