Second in a row!
The mud is drying!
Tellya what, since this winter I seem to have kicked the chimney fire phobia that plagued me for the past two seasons, I like it clear and cool. I’m charging through my firewood but that’s what it’s for and I can always cut more. Temps haven’t been very cold, low twenties is all, and if this mud would only go the hell away I’d be in heaven.
Of course Landlady is planning to come up for the 3-day weekend, so I expect the return of Apocalypse.
I should have been saving pelts. Got a fifth pack rat over night in the space between the Lair and the woodshed, that makes nine rat kills total since the jihad began. I keep expecting to run out, but it seems there were more about than I thought. Also another mouse tried the “let’s eat the peanut butter out of the underhood rat trap” trick, which did not end well for it. I’ve been pairing that trap with a mouse trap, and they’re more sensitive to tiny mousy feet.

I’m curious what you’d use the pelts for. Somehow, I just don’t see a rat fur coat in your future. 🙂
I’m happy that the mice/rat issue is being resolved in your favor. I figure that with enough pelts you could tan ’em, sew them together and make a fur hat… on second thought, bad idea.
BTW great photo, just another wonderful day in big sky country.
I haven’t worked it out that far myself. Nice dense winter fur, though.
I’m curious what you’d use the pelts for.
There are worse ideas than a fur coat:

and worse ideas than a rat thong too

Re reading in the frosty light of morning, I’d better quickly add that I don’t see any of those bad (ok, ok, deeply twisted) ideas in your future either.
