The Jeep’s personal best

Overnight body count, that is…

The more traps I set under the hood, the more mice I kill. Been several days – in fact maybe a couple of weeks – since I caught a rat, but the mice keep lining up for the traps. I’ll never run out of mice.

Sounds like a handy alternate source of protein. For the dogs if nothing else:-).

    Chickens eat mice.

Chickens also eat chickens, as I’ve learned to my grief. I try to keep their meat intake to a minimum.

    You rock. Need more traps?

I suspect what that Jeep really needs is a steam cleaning under the hood to eliminate the rodent urine smell which is likely attracting them. (Yes, that’s not likely to happen, and if it did you would probably cause a whole new raft of $$$ electrical problems.)

I’m just trying to say that your basic problem is likely that your truck’s engine compartment smells like a rodent nesting area. So they will continue to show up hoping to nest or looking for a hot date. Since you tried mothballs and that didn’t work, I’m fresh out of practical ideas. I’m afraid that your only recourse is to continue with the traps and hope that this is a seasonal thing.
