“My god! It’s full of people who can hurt me!”

Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, is outraged to learn that D.C. security personnel did not kill a man and endanger unknown numbers of other people to preemptively protect his own much-more-important self. paulson-scared

Chaffetz said security tracked Hughes as he approached the Capitol last week after taking off from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. A “judgment call” was made not to shoot Hughes down, Chaffetz said. Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., said officials were concerned about injuring people on the ground if an attempt was made to shoot down Hughes.

Chaffetz said a combination of “lack of communication and some human error” by Capitol Police and other officials allowed Hughes to steer his tiny aircraft within a few hundred feet of the Capitol before landing on the West Lawn.

Chaffetz said he was deeply concerned at “a lack of coordination and communication” among law enforcement agencies charged with what he called “a no-fail mission” to protect the Capitol and other important sites in Washington, including the White House.

Glad you’re safe, Congressman, and that the bad, bad man in the tiny gyrocopter didn’t harm you.

Hmmm, wonder what they’re all so hysterically afraid of. Personally, I think anyone who wants to get within several hundred miles of these delicate and so easily frightened people is bat poop crazy, no matter what their motive for going there.

Wish the guy with the little copter would land at my place. Always wanted to see one. 🙂 Might be good if he called ahead first, however.

The Rove Republican swill, such as the esteemed Rep. Chaffetz, are nothing more than the other end of the same steaming turd as the Democrats. May they all soon burn in hell where they belong. Along with every one of their enablers.

I was overflown by a B-52 at nap-of-the-earth altitude back when we practiced bombing the Commies. I didn’t know it was coming either, Congressman, and all I thought was “Cool!” Ya weenie.

Politicians are disposable. They sometimes need to be reminded of that.

  5. KurtP says:

Ya. Well Congressman- most Americans are made even more unsafe than you feel due to your lack of backbone in trying to stop 0bamas illegal -illegal immigration fraud.
Have a safe day being protected like normal Americans….aren’t.

In terms of ability to carry weapons and explosives, that tiny chopper is far less dangerous than, say, a Yugo. Yet anybody can freely drive inside the beltway. What is so scarey about the ability to fly?

  7. Judy says:

Really! The guy let the FBI know he was going to fly in as a protest before he did it, according to what I read. And if I remember right they (FBI) payed him a visit before hand. So what’s with all the hysteria? The congressman didn’t get a personal memo. Whatever it takes to get your name mentioned in the press. Sad, really sad.
