Legalize weed and you ruin the day of countless corrupt cops, no doubt. But think of the opportunities opened for enterprising bureaucrats!
Rush worked to expand his union’s presence in the medical marijuana industry, including unionizing dispensary workers, FBI Special Agent Roahn Wynar wrote in an affidavit released Wednesday. Rush also serves as treasurer of the Instituto Laboral de la Raza, a nonprofit that advocates on behalf of the working poor.
But instead of working on behalf of the union and the institute, Rush “accepted money in exchange for his actions and influence as a UFCW union official,” the criminal complaint says.
And what ‘actions and influence’ were worth the bribes? Why, helping the dispensaries not be unionized. Of course.
“Nice business you got here. Be a shame if something happened to it.”

I love the way the union rep is shocked, simply shocked! that one of her fellows would take bribes.
Also: “… Instituto Laboral de la Raza, a nonprofit that advocates on behalf of the working poor.”
Ummm, “laboral de la raza.” Somehow that doesn’t sound as if it advocates anything on behalf of “the working poor.” Unless the working poor in question are of the correct “raza.”
Disgusting business all around.
