Here’s a cheery thought…

In 1933, Germans were led to be so frightened of Communist totalitarianism that they voted a Fascist totalitarian into office.

Twelve years later, many of those voters were dead and Europe – including Germany – was a smoking ruin.

Oh, and half of it was ruled by Communists.

So that worked well.

    Nah, it was more of them being told they were worthless, and the cause of all the problems in Europe/the world and dealing with a crappy economy. So, absolutely NOTHING like America.

    Trump is not Hitler. Trump is a clown show that somehow gained traction because all the other options were just so, so terrible. A Trump presidency won’t be good, but it won’t be nearly as bad as the breathless among us fear. He’s going to be pretty much castrated from day one. No matter who takes congress, they all hate him.
