The bad news is the IOP is still way high, and the worse news is the ophthalmologist put me on different eyedrops that cost three times as much.
But the other good news is at least I got two months’ supply – which cost six times as much – and so I don’t have to go back till June. He’s talking up a laser treatment I hope to avoid, because it’ll cost a fortune and the last time it hurt like hell afterward and didn’t do any good at all.
The kinda/sorta good news is that all the bad news concerns my right eye, which I’ve sort of written off emotionally anyway. The news for my left eye, which works fine and much better after that lens replacement, is all good.

Well at least there is hope and if the laser helps suck it up, do a bleg and get ‘er done.
Joel: I’ve been blind twice so far. I still don’t care for it. My case is unlike yours, so no useful advice here except:
drugs are your friend
lasers hurt sometimes (oh, hell yeah!) but might help
get a second or third informed opinion if such is available (from a younger doc, not the old school guy)
drink better quality booze than I did
Breathe. Repeat. Persevere.
Robert: I do not drink the alcohol that makes you blind. I’m a Michigan redneck and do not need the warning, much appreciated as it is.
As to the rest, well yeah, drugs. I’m aware that lasers hurt. This actually is the second opinion. Technically it’s the third, and this fellow is young enough to think lasers are the cool.
“Breathe. Repeat. Persevere.” is advice I hope to be taking religiously forty years from now or more.
I Know just how you feel , Going through a lot the same thing with my eyes right now . Only I have a blown and fixed pupil thrown in just for spice .
As a fellow sufferer, I’m curious as to which drops he put you on.
Yeah, what Chuck said, I’ve been playing that game a lot lately.
