Should’ve used cheese.

Pork and pineapple pie! I actually woke up intending to do this today, except with canned ham instead of pork roast. But I had this pork roast I had to use up in something or I’d otherwise eat the whole thing. So I baked it in a pie.

All I know how to make is bread dough, so I rolled it out thin and then assembled and baked the pie right away before it could rise too much. Worked out reasonably well, a little too much bread for the filling and a little dry on the outside. Wish I’d put cheese on top, in hindsight.

Good, though. And YUUGE. I’ll have to cut and wrap the slices before it goes stale.

That looks good. Not sure I would want cheese with pineapple though. If you buttered the pie as it came out of the oven that might help with the ‘dry’.

That’s very creative! Ham and pineapple go together perfectly, so why not in a meat pie? For your next try, you might want to consider making meal-sized turnovers rather than one large pie. Think empanada or meat pasty.

Yeah, turnovers would have been better. Also, I had questions about cheese with pineapple. The pineapple kept it nice and moist inside, though.

whoa, that’s way better than mine.

Ain’t nothing wrong with cheese and pineapple. Possibly, some cheeses work better than others. But, I will mention at least the canadian bacon & pineapple pizza. Yeah, mozzarella! I suspect parmesan & romano would work too. Doing a web search for ‘pineapple and cheese’ turned up lots of recipes. Mac’n’cheese with pineapple? Yeah, that too.

Looks good. So glad I read this every day, always learn something from the posts. Great stuff. Meat pies usually have some kind of broth/juice/sauce or gravy or canned cream soup added, keeps everything moist. You can cover your next one with something, pot lid or foil, to keep the crust from drying out. Or use a Dutch oven.

That looks yummy. Personally I have a wife that takes care of this sort of thing. (looks around scanning for incoming rocks) I just heat and serve.
