Prepping instruction for the complete idiot

This would be funny, if not for the body count among the innocents…

Campfire demonstration goes awry resulting in explosion; 2 children severely burned

Campers at the West Florida District Assembly of God Campground, 4792 U.S. 90, were assembled inside a building some time before 11 a.m. Wednesday when a small fire was ignited for a lesson during the week-long summer camp, according to a news release from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).

At some point during the demonstration, a flammable liquid used to start the fire accidentally ignited, causing a flash fire that “engulfed” two nearby children, JCSO reported.

Yup, the demonstration went a little bit awry. I gather the follow-up demo on how to extinguish a fire went well, though…

Be careful out there.

In another part of Florida, a high school Principal apparently thought long and hard about what the stupidest thing he could possibly do was. After due consideration, he decided tn invite a fire eater to a school pep rally.

Aside from the whole, “Hey! Let’s build a fire inside the building and kill all the kids with carbon monoxide.” I figure that some impatient dweeb sprayed starter fluid on the fire.

My thermite technique is much safer, with no volatile liquid fuels.

I saw this story over on Fark and couldn’t believe it. It just boggles the mind that adults can be this stupid. The worst of it is these idiots and their stupidity were responsible for injuring two children. Seeing that this was at the West Florida District Assembly of God Campground it must have been “God’s will.” Idiots….

    INSIDE a building?
Bad enough using accelerants-that’s just stoopid.
