Screw’em all.

Stolen from elsewhere, without permission or attribution because I don’t know who said it and the site is not public:

“We may not be able to change the polarized dynamic created by having to vote for either the narcissist or the moron, so lets make them irrelevant. Stop playing their game. Don’t support their world-view. Stop allowing them to be our puppeteers. Let them do what “they” do, unconnected to reality of the majority of most of humanity. Stop letting “them” “pull your strings.” Don’t allow your world-view to be created by what “they” say and what “they” do. Don’t allow your understanding of self to be influenced by their feckless words and policies. Live our own lives. Those who have made a proclamation that only “they” are uniquely qualified to tell us how we ought to live our lives, are useless narcissistic morons. So let them play their game. Take your ball and go home to your family!”

truthSo easy to say, so hard to do at first.

This is the season of “the perfect is the enemy of the good,” and “vote defensively,” and “but the next guy will pack the Supreme Court!” We are regularly/incessantly told that “their” bastard is so much worse than “our” bastard that it doesn’t even matter at all that “ours” is such an appalling bastard. What’s important is keeping “their” bastard out!

Supreme Court!

You know what? I can’t believe all the hype. If the parties really took this seriously, they could have found two better candidates. They’ve always been statist bastards, but I usually end up favoring (though not actually voting for) one over the other – at least defensively.

This year, it’s just insulting. It’s embarrassing. Other countries are watching this.

I’ve been watching this slo-mo train wreck as long as you have, and now the election is less than a month out. And I can honestly say I don’t care which gets it. Screw’em all. Whichever wins, I’m going to work on making them even more irrelevant to my life than they already are.

Unfortunately we do have to keep a jaundiced eye on them and stop them wherever we can or we end up with the likes of Hitler or Chavez. Remember they were originally elected. It would be really nice if we could all go to the polls and vote ‘none of the above’. Forcing the big two parties to find candidates that had We the People and the country’s best interests at heart. However, the system isn’t set up that way. So the country’s choices are the Mouthy Hairball or Crooked Cankles this go round.

    What Klaus said. amen, indeed

I would also like to ignore them and if U.S. Gov. would only leave me and my family out of there plans, would do so. The problem is Washington makes it their business to be in YOUR business. You are well insulated from this in the desert, but for citizens who function in the urbans, you find yourself having to comply with stupid rules so that a government employee has a job.

If it weren’t for that – yep, ignore the mofos.

Thanks for posting this. In this train wreak you guy call an election, for the first time I can’t see where voting for either of these two would amount to anything more than further diminishing citizens rights and freedoms.

Joel, I’m going to let the author know you posted it here. He will be deeeee-lighted. 🙂

AHEM. Look, we Have ended up with a Chavez and a Hitler. Maybe worse. Sociopaths and psychopaths. Look at what unions for government employees have done. And look what prison industries has done. This is the machinery of depravity.

When we have had a healthy taste of freedom, and we smile because we know how it feels, then government begins to feel increasingly foul and festering, depraved and decadent. I agree 100% with the author Joel is quoting.

It saves a lot of wear and tear on the endocrine system and the adrenals especially to simply turn off the political entertainment, exhale, let go of the insult that stuff is doing to your spirit, and walk away. Focus on being free, rather than trying to save anything. Model the good, show how voluntary cooperation works among rational humans. It is this voluntary cooperation among us, beginning at the most local level—the family, the extended family, the adopted family—your immediate Tribe, if you will—that is our salvation.

We are creative, brilliant, decent human beings. What could be worse than wasting brain-space on trying to comprehend the machinations of a bunch of crazy people?

Joel. That post was written by myself to Ilo. More where that comes from. Cheers from Reno. Tim

Great paragraph. There’s only one problem as I see it. The debt slavery machine, think real estate vs salary and the fed. reserve monster… has all but eliminated the family as a functional unit. Again I have to repeat what a previous comment said… they are f*cking with us in real terms, otherwise yes, ignore the cretins.

There is no reason housing and food costs what they do, other than it was designed that way by collusion. The supply is there, take a drive anywhere in the country.
