Say what you will about the weather in the high desert, it isn’t usually namby-pamby. If it isn’t absolutely beautiful in every measurable way it’s trying to kill you. Yesterday dawned cloudy, which was not good news because I managed to run Ian’s batteries low trying to keep chicks warm. Then it started raining at about 10 and basically never stopped all day. Washed out the crossings and generally made a huge nuisance of itself. Today dawned cloudy and I expected more of the same, but instead I get…drizzle. Not real wet, not real dry, just dispiriting. I’m going to go read a book or something.
This morning I got halfway through a quicky chore I probably shouldn’t have started till better weather, so I need to go out and finish it after a bite of lunch…

Quick cleanup job for a neighbor. Most of it is bound for the burn barrel rather than the woodshed, because I don’t burn plywood or OSB indoors. But I’ll get a little firewood out of the deal. OSB’s gonna need to dry out some before it’ll burn, though.

If you want a better way to describe the weather, maybe you should download an app called WTForcast. Just a thought…
Laddie.
A whole new unknown environment.
Twice shortly relocated…
So little command he has.
I wonder if dogs aren’t better at adapting,
than some other critters…
Maybe not the best example of canine adaptability, since if Laddie could have adapted to being the second dog in a pack of two he wouldn’t have needed the second dislocation.
Well come on now. Let’s not be so hateful. At least they told you his nickname before he showed up…

Why does Snoop Dog carry an umbrella?
