Perhaps Obama wants them out of town for awhile. They are after all, “…the most decorated in the Kentucky National Guard.”

Or more likely the empire is short of regular army occupation troops.

    Turrists.

This is a direct result of post-Vietnam structural changes in the military.

As a result of our nation’s Vietnam experience, the Army was reshaped so that National Guard units were a fundamental component of its fighting power, and almost no serious ongoing war would be possible without calling them up. The idea being to prevent the military from being an isolated praetorian class that could be sent to war without affecting the civilian fabric of the nation, thereby offering a brake to foreign adventurism and undeclared wars.

How’s that workin’ out for you?
