All your stuff are belong to us.

And no, you’re not allowed to hide it.

A hidden compartment in your vehicle, with or without drugs, could mean big trouble as Ohio officials get serious about slowing down drug-smuggling.

A proposed state law, advocated by Gov. John Kasich, would make it a fourth-degree felony to own a vehicle equipped with secret compartments. A conviction would mean up to 18 months in jail and a potential $5,000 fine.

I feel much safer now.

H/T to Balko.

Better just stop driving. Every car contains what could be construed by a greedy DA as a “compartment”.

    Buck.

I don’t have any “drugs,” but I do collect wild herbs and food at times. I also usually have all kinds of brass and other shooting stuff in my car.

    They’d ‘you know what’ a brick…

Guess I’ll stay out of Ohio. Also Illinois… hell, I’ll stay west of South Dakota, thanks. Wasn’t planning on driving east anyway.

Well, I didn’t vote for Kasich in 2010, and don’t look like I’ll be voting for him next go-round either.

Guess I can’t invite you to Iowa, either, Mama. We got our no-compartment law in ’04 despite a legislature full of small-government conservatives. That’s the same year the same Bokanosky Group decided I needed goverrnment permission to buy cold medicine.
