Gorgeously warm day: Partly sunny, temps in the mid-sixties. Time to move a whole bunch of rotted manure to the holes that will soon host Landlady’s new fruit trees. So I brought Gulchenshittenhaulen for Wednesday shit-shoveling. Loaded the bucket, drove back and forth.
One thing Gulchenroadencrawlen absolutely won’t do in high range is climb hills. Or even mild grades. So while I could move part of the way at speeds approaching double-digits, most of the back-and-forth was done at an agonizing crawl. It’s a little more than 1.2 miles from the shit-hills of the desert to Landlady’s tree holes, and a round trip took roughly half an hour. Three hours later, I wasn’t half done. But the wind had gotten up to where it seemed like half of each bucket-load went directly into my face. So I have knocked off for the afternoon. At some point before dark, I hope my ass stops vibrating.
Lovely piles of rotted poop and straw are growing next to the tree sites, though.
