There’s this young lady who put four videos up a couple of days ago. She kind of drones on, but does have some good things to say. Probably on Facebook; I can’t find anything like a website or blog.

Scary Manifesto that keeps getting pushed down on the sidebar by filthy capitalism!
They say that Louis XIV had the inscription Ultima Ratio Regum cast into all the cannon of the French Army. It means “The Ultimate Argument of Kings,” and that always struck me as one of the most honest and up-front things any ruler or would-be ruler ever said. “We can dress it up prettier than this, but when it comes down to the unvarnished truth this is what it’s about: You’ll do as I say or I’ll send my goons to kill you.”
I thought about that for a long time. If there’s an ultimate argument, it seems only logical that there must be an ultimate answer. For years I thought the ultimate answer must be the bullets in my rifle, but it never seemed quite right. I’ve got bullets – he’s got frigging Cannon Balls. I mean, if there were three hundred million rifles throwing bullets at him, then maybe. But we all know that’s not going to happen. So if there’s an ultimate answer to his ultimate argument, it sure as hell ain’t bullets.
It finally came to me – and that’s when I abandoned the city and most of my stuff, and gave all that was behind me a good stiff Randian Shrug.
The ultimate answer to kings is not a bullet, but a belly laugh.

Here is her website. http://www.josietheoutlaw.com/ I wish I could understand what she’s saying, but she’s getting good notice all over the blog world.
I noticed her yesterday via Kent McManigal on Facebook. She says things pretty darn well, on the whole, and per the end of at least one of the videos, she is somehow connected with Larken Rose, which explains much of the familiar feel of the content and delivery style. (ML, if this helps: it’s very much like watching Rose, but with a little less drip on the sarcasm meter.)
I find the pastoral video design to be annoying, myself. Of the four videos I saw, the one titled “when resistance becomes duty” is flat-out grating, in exactly the same way that trendy types can be when they suddenly fancy themselves Africans and try to turn their meme into a (very bad) chant. The content is there (unlike the chanters), but the design of the delivery weighs it down with more than enough baggage to switch people off. My favorite clip was “On being an outlaw”, which was at once less pastoral than the others, more secure in its content, and delivered more earnestly by “Josie”. “Why good people should be armed” also struck me very well, other than that grating style. “Message to police” is a necessary and great idea, but could have been done much better–at least I think she could have done it much better, based on how she was in the two better clips.
I sound like I’m harping; please forgive me for that. I want these to be good, and they are, largely. (I think they could be great, with just a little attention.) In this the comparison with LR is very apt again. I love Rose’s work for its unapologetic content, but the guy does tend to play it very…straight, and he can albatross his own brilliance quite effectively.
And hell: both LR and this “Josie” are out there doing it. For that, I got nothin’ but love.
I loved what she had to say. But I agree that the style of delivering the message was distracting. I was also distracted by those awesome mammaries! Wow.
Here’s a comment from a friend of mine. If this is what she’s saying, I’ll say no thanks.
She completely turned me off with her argument about air bags in the video “Why good people should be armed.” She sits in a car and says “The reason people want airbags…” BZZZZZT. Consumers did not and do not want airbags. Politicians want them, and they were installed in cars by force of law after miserably failing the test of consumer demand.
One has to wonder if this is an NSA honeytrap to collect

ML, based on the whole of what I saw, harping on her for that is probably putting the cart before the horse. I think it was an unintentional oversight rather than closeted statism; if that latter really was the problem, it would almost certainly be noticeable elsewhere too…and it really isn’t. She makes several arguments, I think, that could be cleaner and better organized, and I’m already on record as disliking much of the delivery style, but I sure don’t see convincing evidence of latent polypragmatism. Hell, she even uses the word “chaos” without flinching. 🙂
I agree that the argument has an exploitable flaw, for someone who is willing to avoid her point about comparing airbags and guns simply as safety devices, and instead make it about the history of the state’s official attitude toward them. (Personally, I’d argue that what the state thinks about either, is equally meaningless. And really, what meaningful comparative example could anyone even offer as an alternative, that itself is free of state scrutiny?)
Respectfully…it seems like sniping at the wrong target, especially at a time when I’m of the attitude to welcome just about anyone who gets the big points right. And I think she does.
I’m really glad to hear that, Kevin! Sure wish I could hear what she says for myself, but this was from a trusted friend… oh well. I guess I’m just so used to these things turning out to be three dollar bills… And it’s getting worse and worse for me to understand these things since more stuff all the time is available only as video. Even if I could understand it, I can read 20 times faster than anyone can talk, so videos waste an awful lot of time and I don’t even bother most of the time. I did try to look at this one, however. sigh
Guess I’m mostly surprised that Larken didn’t seem to make a greater effort to keep it clearer, since it seems he had input… but maybe I’m mistaken there too. I do highly respect most of what he puts out… what I can understand. He does a lot of this video stuff too.
The very words “air bag” makes me nervous… If the one in my car went off, it could easily kill me, so I sure don’t want it and don’t consider it any kind of safety device… and that goes for a lot of small and older folks as well. Guess that’s what set me off.
Anyway, I’m glad to hear she’s not preaching some sort of back door statism… and she sure is pretty. 🙂
I’ve been looking for a little more information about her. Not her message, but who she is and where she came from.
I get nervous when someone has the right speaking points but I can’t connect the dots.
both the wife and I watch every video she puts out when I get the notice from her I wish more young people were as informed as this young lady
“Josie” is articulate and composed. Listen intently and listed several times until you get it. THEN take action. Rhetoric will not possess liberty! Resistance is a daily movement of many small actions. Start with: not purchasing their products, stop using their services, support your family and neighbors and end statist control grid. DO A COLORADO and PETITION corrupt and unsupportive politicians OUT OF OFFICE and NOTE IN NEW ones.
For those of a lack of understanding, like mama liberty, of what is being said, you are confusing style with the message. This is your limitation, not the person doing the delivery. Quite frankly the Airbag analogy is excellent.. if you can’t relate, it is your limitation.
Given the criticism, one COULD conclude you are for government control of our lives, and are a government spook.
Really? An objection to mandated airbags is an indication that you’re a ‘government spook?’ Really?
One COULD also have one’s head up his or her anonymous ass. I’ve known ML for over ten years. She’s a valued asset of this blog, and you’ll keep a civil finger on your keyboard or take it elsewhere.
I think she totally awesome…..
This gal seems pretty young for one with that level of wisdom. Afraid I’m in the “Howcum we get so soon old and so late smart” crowd. Mostly, I hope everyone will take up the cause of the informed jury and go to FIJA.com. You can download all kinds of stuff and post it here and there. It’s really fun to post this stuff near the local courthouse. Also, be sure to register to vote so you can be selected for jury duty. You don’t have to vote if you don’t want to. I don’t for the same reason as Josie.
BTW, What a babe!
Why she stop posting videos her last video was 2 years on YouTube??? Anyones know what happen to her.????
No idea. I’ve wondered the same thing but never saw any information.
