The one executed for walking-while-carrying-a-toy-gun?
The California legislature took the matter very seriously, and has solved the problem so it can never happen again. Behold.
Senators passed SB 199 on a 23-8 vote. Authored by Sen. Kevin de Leon, D-Los Angeles, the bill avoids discussion of the deadly force issue, but instead would ban the type of toy weapon Lopez was holding. This seems to epitomize the legislature’s approach to complex problems that involve firearms.
“This bill prohibits the sale of BB devices in California unless the entire exterior surface of the device is brightly colored or the device is transparent, as specified,” according to the Senate analysis. The bill would include BB and pellet guns in the definition of imitation firearms, which under current law may not be publicly displayed.
Hail the wisdom of our great leaders. Produce. Consume. Obey.

I guess that’s the end of Beeman air rifles and the good old Red Ryder BB guns.
This is sponsored by that ’30 Magazine Clip in a second, 30 dispersal Ghost Gun’ guy… What a winner…
I think the worst takeaway here is that, rather than increasing training or disciplining the cops who killed that kid, the response is to INCREASE the legal justification of shooting him. Classy. In a state that has also recently justified the beating death of an unarmed person by police officers, the shooting death of a subdued suspect (shot in the back, on the ground, by transit cops in Oakland) and the death of a protester (say what you will about the OWS, precedent is precedent) due to Less Lethal response. There are good reasons I avoid CA if at all possible.

Further proof California is run by nutters. Maybe they should pass a law requiring all dogs to be muzzled with bright orange devices to avoid shooting and killing puppies in the future also. After all they have had a problem with police commiting puppycide from difficulty identifying a Chihuahua from a pitbull.
Btw, one of the best films ever. I’ve come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And I’m all out of bubblegum.
Kevin “Ghost Gun” De Leon is one of the reasons I am desperate to leave California, ASAP.
Of course the whole “everything is a justifiable homicide so long as the killer has a badge” thing is a concern.
That said, the Ninth Circuit Court(the most overturned court in the history of judicial buffoonery) just ruled it is unconstitutional for the counties to deny citizens a carry permit by citing lack of “just cause” or citing “bad moral character” when said citizens are being forced to grovel and beg to exercise a right.
Have to wait and see what Cameltoe Harris does. She’s a loon if she pushes it to SCOTUS.
No matter in any case, I am leavin’.
