Busy morning

After a two-day false alarm, Uncle Joel has to be social today. Landlady’s coming with her folks and there’s a neighborhood get-together this evening. So I’m cleaning up around the Lair a bit and baking bread early. It threatened rain all yesterday afternoon but didn’t deliver until sometime in the wee hours of this morning, so once I get the dough rising the boys and I need to take the Jeep to the county road about six miles away just to make sure everything’s passable for regular cars. If not, it’s no big problem but we need to know. We’ll ditch the cars at the county road (there’s an impromptu parking lot there for the purpose) and shuttle everybody to Landlady’s place in 4X4s.

I got a new breadmaking book in hopes of climbing my next plateau as a baker, and as expected the first thing it pointed out is that I’ve gotten lazy in my kneading. So, since I see the yeast has proven and it’s time to get cracking, I need to go exercise my arms now. Later, maybe.

About Joel

You shouldn't ask these questions of a paranoid recluse, you know.
