Finally, a chance to get rid of that old washer.

And with it, a whole bunch of other stuff. Happy I was forced to clean out the powershed Sunday. Excellent timing. So I loaded the Jeep trailer,…

…then transferred it to D&L’s truck at their place. Loaded the truck and trailer with their garbage…

…and drove to the landfill. Emptied the garbage at the landfill, then drove to the boneyard to dump the washing machine. I always worry about the process of getting the trailer from the Jeep to their big truck – I think this is the third time we’ve done it in many years – but it always goes pretty smoothly.

Here in suburbia, I take the washer to the curb and the scrap metal guy picks it up and hauls it away.
Glad you remembered the blog!
Thanks for the free ice cream.
Here in Appalachia we just push it off a hill. I used to live in your desert though. You must still have old mine shafts right?
Ah, dump runs, how well I know them. 😊
The old trailer is looking good. Have you considered putting a swing back bolt on trailer jack to the front of the trailer? It would make things a lot easier when hooking up or moving the trailer around.

If I recall correctly it used to have one. I took it off because it was getting in the way and anyway the trailer’s so light it isn’t necessary. Even with all that stuff in it I could work the hitch by hand because the load was balanced.
I just had to buy a new washer. The old one is going to turn into floor patch-panels on a ’91 Jimmy, the stainless tub will probably turn into a wild rice threshing barrel (with parching heat!) and the rest will be either spare parts or plastic scrap.
I use ALL the buffalo here in the swamp.
Joel, that’s interesting and good to hear. I guess my 5X8 trailer is a little beefier than yours. 😊
