There are so many things yet to be regulated, and so many people clamoring to be protected from so many things. There really ought to be some sort of futures market in regulatory agencies – and then of course that would need regulation…
Pallone Wants Congressional Hearing on Fantasy Football
“These [fantasy football] sites are enormously popular, arguably central to the fans’ experience, and professional leagues are seeing the enormous profits as a result. Despite how mainstream these sites have become, though, the legal landscape governing these activities remains murky and should be reviewed.”
Years ago, fantasy leagues were just a cubicle farm timewaster on the same order as but a bit more social than Microsoft Solitaire. I gather it has become big business since then, and so of course must be destroyed.
But this concern over the possibility that bored office workers might be gambling on fantasies without paying Massa his cut is nothing compared to the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, is having sex with robots. Seriously. There’s a…
Which is so self-explanatory I won’t sully it with … well, anything.
“Freedom begins when you tell Mrs. Grundy to go fly a kite.”
– Robert Heinlein
But you’d better clear that first with the Department of Kites and Telling. I understand there are serious backlogs on licenses for both.

Life is a gamble from the moment of conception, and that’s as much as I want to deal with any day, so I never could see the least attraction to any sort of artificial gambling. Mrs. Grundy will continue to put her nose into everyone else’s business just as long as most people think that she has that “right.” Far too many folks actually believe they have some authority to dictate to other people, and their victims almost always nod their head and agree. Without that compliance, the non-voluntary government would quickly vanish…
RE: the anti-sex-robot site . . .
One cannot help but believe that if this site exists there must likewise be, somewhere, similar sites promoting the development of “female” sex robots for the pleasure of the lesbian contingent, plus a similar one in favor of “male” sex robots for the straight-but-unloved females as well as for the gay male contingent.
One cannot also help but wonder how the whiners decided to totally ignore the subjugation and degradation of male prostitutes. After all, they should be considered just as put-upon as women and children in that regard.
Loonies. They are everywhere . . . and at least some of them breed.
Too judgmental?
😉
With all of the things they have to do, I find it heartwarming that Congress finds time (time after time, it seems) to hold hearings on … baseball!

Remember, you can’t spell “judgmental” without M-E-N-T-A-L.
