It did the same thing last year. It did it three weeks later, but the same thing.
There’s this fitting down where we planted Ian’s trees. It’s the very lowest point in the water system. Last year, at the very first freeze, that fitting froze and blew apart. Dumped every drop of water.
I thought Ian said he closed that valve. Maybe he said it was time to close that valve. Maybe he said something else entirely.
Anyway, I knew the freeze was coming. For once the weather forecast was right. I should have checked the valve to the tree waterer.
Didn’t. That’s where all my water went. And as a twofer, just to rub my nose in it, what little water was in the manifold at the bottom of the cistern proceeded to freeze. So I still don’t have water and may not (if last year is any guide) for days.
Hmmph.
