Remember when this new thing called the “internet” was getting a lot of mention, and all people wanted to talk about was how it enabled this other thing called “porn?” I remember giving it a try, ‘way back then, but all I could find was something related called “amazingly irritating advertisements for porn.”
Well, I do get hints from time to time that this “porn” thing, whatever it is, remains popular among a certain segment of the population. Yes, right here on TUAK, which is not an especially porn-heavy site.
It’s weird, but true. The best thing that has happened to my drop-in traffic for the past eighteen months or so, not counting a couple of popular blogrolls, is this post from March of last year. A post in which I had nothing to say.
But I’m pretty sure people don’t visit it to read my winsome words. Literally no day goes by in which somebody isn’t led to that post via Google. And it kept TUAK on page 1 of Google for quite a while, where it may be still for all I know. Been a while since I looked. :^P
