They say that Louis XIV had the inscription Ultima Ratio Regum cast into all the cannon of the French Army. It means “The Ultimate Argument of Kings,” and that always struck me as one of the most honest and up-front things any ruler or would-be ruler ever said. “We can dress it up prettier than this, but when it comes down to the unvarnished truth this is what it’s about: You’ll do as I say or I’ll send my goons to kill you.”
I thought about that for a long time. If there’s an ultimate argument, it seems only logical that there must be an ultimate answer. For years I thought the ultimate answer must be the bullets in my rifle, but it never seemed quite right. I’ve got bullets – he’s got frigging Cannon Balls. I mean, if there were three hundred million rifles throwing bullets at him, then maybe. But we all know that’s not going to happen. So if there’s an ultimate answer to his ultimate argument, it sure as hell ain’t bullets.
It finally came to me – and that’s when I abandoned the city and most of my stuff, and gave all that was behind me a good stiff Randian Shrug.
The ultimate answer to kings is not a bullet, but a belly laugh.

93 million a day? Hmmm… “The current population of the United States of America is 326,356,220 as of Wednesday, June 14, 2017, based on the latest United Nations estimates.” At that rate, the US will be wiped out in under 4 days.
He mangled “93 people a day” in his rush to the sound bite.
Still, if it were 93,000,000 a day, could we let it run a couple days before we did anything about it? It’d likely do wonders for traffic.

After all, with that mortality rate the Broad Ripple restaurants won’t stay open anyway.

So THAT’S why Wyoming is so empty! Hmmm, except for one thing. No real “gun violence” here, not even when three people want the same gun at a gunshow. He needs to rethink that number. Oh, he can’t think? Of course. Whew, that’s a relief. 🙂
“Leaders” should lead by example. After they have all disarmed, and have disarmed their minions and myrmidons, then I will perhaps consider some of their comments valid. Not saying I’ll disarm, but if they feel so strongly about not being armed, then, sure, I support their right to sell their firearms and disarm their “protectors” and I would applaud such a move on their part.
Same here in Montana as in Wyoming: everyone armed, nobody shooting. Yet.
I’m pretty sure he misspoke. I am sure he meant “billion” not “million”.
