I want to violate the privacy of some wildlife.

New Jovian Thunderbolt got me thinking about this.

I’ve never seen one of these things in the flesh, but it seems like it would be such a great idea. It’s a game camera, an infrared digital camera triggered by a motion detector. Hunters use’em: Mount it in a likely spot and learn all about the activity on a game trail or meadow or whatnot.

A lot of the wildlife around here lays low during the day, but judging from tracks this is a pretty jumpin’ place at night and I always miss it.

Someday. Someday. When I finally (HAH!) finish the Lair.

I occasionally bump into one of these when I’m out exploring with the dogs. We always pose for a family portrait before we continue on our way. I’ve always wondered if the owners appreciated or gesture. 🙂

I have limited experience with these, but I can offer this:
Avoid Cuddeback brand. These cameras are crap. Engineered by low-functioning morons. Customer service by clueless trolls. The cameras eat batteries, use antiquated memory cards, and die within a few months. Stay away.

    Good to know. Thanks!
