…I’d have found this over the top.
Got an email from Landlady: “I found something to replace your utility belt ;)” with a link.
Now, granted, Uncle Joel’s Bat-belt has occasionally danced around the shark in a sprightly manner, if not actually jumping right over it. It has toned down quite a lot in the last couple of years, and I’ve already done my mea culpas in regard to big knives.
But no matter how embarrassing I may occasionally get, I’ve never quite done
At least not in public.

Wow, I guess if there was ever a zombie uprising…
So Joel what is your every day carry these days. I’m curious…
Kind of funny here. I purchased a couple of those Molle strapped riot shotgun scabbards (about $18 each on sale) for sort of same purpose. Instead of firearms though, a full sized axe and / or long machete is carried inside scabbard, with a Gerber ‘bill hook’ tool strapped on outside. It frees my hands for carrying other items but looks tactical as hell. Hell, wear a shemagh and my costume is complete, lol.
Well, let’s see…
There’s the Taurus 431. A practically antique Schrade LB7. A Leatherman. A couple of speedstrips. A pair of cheap earplugs, a lighter, a Tracfone, a hook for holding my earmuffs when going to and from the range, and a little one-LED flashlight. Also a hanky.
I think you’re misspelling it, its tacti-cool!
Yeah. Right. Only with age – I learned to my embarrassment – do you learn that “tacticool” is rarely actually cool.
Hey Joel, no suspenders? :^) The big difference between you and the photo is that you need and use the stuff you carry.
I have never been a fan of tacti-cool. I guess I was colored against it because of the cop wannabes that I had to work with, and in one case for, in my old job. The sheath in the photo looks like it has a 8 or 9 inch knife in it. Unless one is expecting an end of the world type event all tacti-cool does is draw unwanted attention from the city folk. Hell the biggest knife I carry has a 4.5 inch blade and I only have it on me when I’m backpacking.
As for me, my EDC is: a Leatherman crunch, a ZT 350 knife, an old Zippo, some ear plugs, an LED Mag-light solitaire, a meter of 550 cord, a handkerchief and a wallet.
