Not this one.

Mentioned I wasn’t picky about that new handgun I’m looking for.

I’ve changed my mind about that.

Also…do Springfield XDs really have “Grip Zone” embossed on the grip? Are the sort of people who think sawing off the trigger guard is a good idea the target market for this gun?

BTW, there’s some movement behind the scenes on that other matter. It may be that there will be a new official TUAK handgun in the foreseeable future.

Other than that the day has sucked, I’ve done nothing interesting, and your insistence that I post good stuff every day is a sexist/ageist/ableist(sp?) microaggression against me. I’m calling my counselor immediately after I run to my safe space, and then you’ll be in trouble.

I suspect that someone will claim that you writing that you will “… run to your safe space…” is an ableist microagression against those who cannot run, and an economic microagression against those who cannot afford a safe space.

I propose that we call these ridiculous assertions “mockuaggressions” from now on.

  2. Fret not, Joel. The “grip zone” low-hanging fruit has already been appropriately mocked: http://gunmartblog.com/2014/11/14/grip-zone/

Hey, at least the light must have been worth it. (What-a-) Marron kept that, after all. 🙂

At least it doesn’t have accessory brackets for coiling the extension cord for the light. They cause holster fit problems.

I have carried a Springfield XD compact for nearly 8 years now. The original, and I’ve not been impressed with the subsequent reiterations myself. The original XD platform is solid, reliable and will eat anything, but that onr looks just plain dumb. Messing with the trigger guard is beyond dumb.I shot a “sub compact” XD once, and hated it. Not enough grip to get hold of, really, and the balance was all cockeyed too. Nooo, not interested in one of those either.

I thought you were only interested in a .44 revolver anyway. Keep looking, I think. 🙂

There’s a new(ish) .44 revolver in my future, looks like. Things have moved faster and more smoothly than I could have dreamed, thanks to a reader who wishes to remain anonymous. Many a thing could still go wrong and it’ll take a while, but the project is not only doable but moving forward.

I’m sorry, but that looks like a typical “Law Enforcement” carry weapon. Makes it far easier for them to use the excuse that “the gun accidentally discharged” when they kill a seven year old girl that was sleeping when they blasted their way into the home…

  7. MamaLiberty says:

That sounds terrific, Joel! I’m so glad. Everyone should own and carry the gun that fits them, and makes them comfortable. The very thought of losing either my Ruger SP101 or the XD makes me sick to my stomach… Luckily, I won’t live long enough to wear out either of them. 🙂

That “Grip Zone” is what happens when you give marketing to much leash.

I’ve fondled one of the Mod 2 XD pistols, since I have Springfield’s XDs model of single stacks in both 45acp & 9 mm. I like it enough that I could see having one someday.

Just noticed, Josh’s surname is fitting.
