Propaganda Fail

A couple of examples, gleaned from my morning surfing:

If You Are Reading This, You Are the Resistance…and your talents are needed these last few weeks.

Oh! I loves me some resistance! Tell me more! Tell me how!

Ah hell…

You are the product of a great many life experiences and the child born to a long line of survivors and thrivers whose hard work and successes put you here today…in this moment…when YOU are needed most. That’s no coincidence. It was always part of the plan. When America needed the help in driving the Left from power in as loud a voice as possible, YOU stepped onto the scene and reported for duty in your own particular way.

Yeah, that’s all very rousing and all, except it turns out that what we’re supposed to spend all that effort on is getting out the republican vote. Which is…not as rousing as the writer seems to believe. In fact I’d tag it as “being part of the problem.” Ditching a democrat oppressor in favor of a republican oppressor isn’t the sort of “resistance” I assumed was under discussion.

Moving on.

SHOCK: Baldwin Wanted to Block Funding for Body Armor For Troops in Combat

I don’t know or care who the hell Tammy Baldwin is, but I’d be shocked if she actually “backed legislation to block funding for body armor and medical supplies for U.S. troops.” I’d be shocked if there ever were any such legislation.

Surprise! There isn’t.

Specifically, the legislation allowed individual taxpayers to block funding that would be used for, “the training, supplying, or maintaining of military personnel.” That would include body armor, medical supplies, and other non-offensive equipment.

That may not be a good thing, from a nationalistic viewpoint. Can’t be giving taxpayers the idea that they have any say in how their stolen money is spent. Who the hell do they think they are? But this is transparently not a case of a congressthing hating on the troops and trying to get them killed. Even if the particular vermin in question is a democrat, which I assume but don’t know.

Of course I would never dream of slanting a news item to support a hobby horse of my own. That would be wrong. But if I ever do succumb to the temptation, I hope I’m less dishonest about it than these examples. Or at least more subtle.
