This sort of thing probably happens to you guys all the time, right? You come home from work to find someone has broken into your home and left you a gun?
Yesterday evening I was discussing the impending scopification of my AK with Ian, and he said he has this WASR-10 he isn’t using that already has a rail – I dunno, just so I can try out the scout scope concept or to tide me over until I buy a decent rail, maybe. Didn’t expect him to come by and drop it off, though.
Also, came back from shit-shoveling this morning to find an email from a generous reader who has offered me an older but very high-quality scout rifle scope. Which settles the “scope or red dot?” question very definitively.
So look for news on the AK front, maybe sooner than I expected.
Nice loaner! I put a rail on my M1 Carbine, it was from Ultimak – it worked well with a red-dot, better than a Carbine is often expected. Looking forward to seeing what kind of “older but high-quality” scout-scope makes its appearance.
