Granddatter’s First Rifle!

After all, she’ll turn four this year. Woke to an email from daughter, announcing that Ari the Husband had decided he was sick of waiting.

No word on Kaelyn’s reaction, but I’d be surprised if she’s not cool with it.

kaelynI’ll have to start on that beginner’s kit for improvised demolitions.

Oh, my stars. She’s an incredibly beautiful elf – and I suspect she has a mind of her own already. Can’t wait to see her holding that rifle. Kudos to her parents. And her grandfather, of course. You did something right. 🙂

    Who me? Do mischief?
    What a cutie!

She’s just way too cute, what a beautiful little girl. Congratulations grandpa.
So the rifle is taken care of.
What about her very own pink rat and mouse traps???? It’s never too soon to learn to trap rodents.

  4. Hard to imagine a more important rifle than the “Chipmunk”/”Crickett”, isn’t it?

Wait…lemmee get this straight….You think you need to gather up an ‘improvised demolitions’ kit for a *4 YEAR OLD*??

Were you completely unaware that 4 year old’s are the grandmasters of ‘improvised demolition’?

Just leave them alone in a room for 30 seconds and prepare to be amazed at what they can accomplish!

LOL Phssthpok, this is absolute truth. My mother bought my two year old a t-shirt that said: US Wrecking Team — and it wasn’t completely a joke. Thank goodness he got more creative and methodical with his deconstruction as he got older, and was more open to the idea that not EVERYTHING should be dismantled – though he had to be watched still. And then, wonder of wonders, when he was about seven, he discovered the joy of putting things back together!!! And he was good at it.

His older brother, on the other hand, was pretty much stuck in the “hammer everything” mode for quite a while. But even he grew up to be a constructive guy. He does high precision welding now, and teaches it. He’s almost fifty years old, and still loves to smash things. (Absolutely hates “cops”)

Valid point, Phssthpok. I forgot my own experience for a moment.

But she’d enjoy it more if it involved explosives. If you can’t spoil a grandchild, what good are they?
