Wow, Landlady came up this mid-day with many care packages…

Landlady brought me half a dozen cans of chicken breast, always welcome. Big brother sent me a scroll saw (welcome) a sack of dried peas (welcome) and sacks of lentils and garbanzo beans (I forgive him). MJR, I think, sent me a good duty belt with a bunch of pouches. Somebody sent a big boxload of .44 Magnum brass which will be put to use.
Neighbor S, who wants me available to reload ammo for him, brought up a big box of reloading stuff from somebody’s basement. Some is useful, some would be useful if it hadn’t been allowed to rust (in particular one set of 30.06 dies that brought a tear to this old eye) and some not so much. But useful stuff is useful.
Also an envelope full of cash from my new employer, extremely welcome. Plus Ian came through and found a surprisingly gullible buyer for the old 431. I actually made money on that deal, and almost feel bad about it. Maybe he needed it to fill out a collection or something, I dunno.
So thank you, all!

But it’s a FAMOUS Taurus 431. Believe it or not, I Googled “Taurus 431”, and the TOP result contained a picture of THAT 431! So that should make it more valuable…right?

Don’t care for lintels myself , but garbanzo beans are good. A very good source of protein
I’ve got a set of 30.06 dies that came with a press I bought years ago. Considering that I don’t own a 30.06, and I haven’t used the dies for the calibers I do own yet, I’d be willing to send them if I knew where the secret mail drop was.
SEE! I knew you were a socialist!
Thankfully, not the government-enforced kind…
🙂

Well, I’m a social kinda guy…in a, you know, non-social kind of…
Never mind. No, I’m not.
I’m just glad that the stuff made it. I really don’t have that much faith in the USPS.
To clarify, I meant voluntarily, without gov’t force…
One of my favorite t-shirts(I have 3);
I’m not anti-social, I’m just not real friendly
Actually, it’s backwards. I’m quite friendly and totally anti-social. 😉
Garbanzo beans are yummy in /with so many things, just remember to brine them before you cook them. If your brother sent brown lentils, ask for green, red or yellow next time. Brown are the strongest tasting and can be difficult to get used to. BTW did you grow onions, garlic and shallots in your garden this year? All very good with your beans.
Zelda does bring up a good point about seasonings/flavor to improve on a steady diet.
You want to try some dried serrano and/or habanero peppers to snap up those lentils? (seriously – I always grow more than I can use)
