More reasons to hate Big Bird

When I rule the universe, I’m either going to outlaw all large birds or do a radical redesign on their digestive systems.

Who’s cleaning that up? Huh? I hate roofs, though at least this one is flat.

A picket-fence-like strip fastened to the top of a panel may discourage sittin’ & poopin’.

Florida flying rats (seagulls) are disuaded with strung up fishing line.
YMMV , I wonder if a modifyed cattel fence charger would be efective;^)

The big problem I had in the desert was clouds of small birds looking for moisture. They would simply destroy the fruit just before it was ripe enough to pick. One year they wiped out both the fruit and the tomatoes. I’m not sure what kind of birds they were, but I think they were Starlings or some sort of sparrow. Thousands of them over a week or so… and then, gone. Oh, and they sat on everything and pooped tons as well. I reduced the fruit loss by setting out large tubs of water, which served to attract bees and other beneficial critters, so it was good all year round.

Then there were the BIG birds too, of course. Twice a year we had massive flocks of vultures visit the town, on their twice yearly migration. They would roost in the trees and break branches with their weight, and drown anything below with their poop. They seemed to like our town a lot, and always stayed at least a week.

Of course, it was “illegal” to shoot them, but some always died mysteriously anyway.

I have no idea how you’d get them to stop roosting on the solar panels, since BBs don’t seem like a good option! Good luck. Depending on what sort of bird it is, you might have a new protein source if you can get them to land somewhere else.
