HARTFORD—Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy’s security detail has cancelled an appearance by the governor at the capitol Wednesday, citing security concerns as hundreds of gun-rights supporters rallied here in protest of a scheduled vote on a package of new gun-control laws.
Malloy was scheduled to appear at an unrelated event on autism at the capitol, but his security detail pulled him off.
“When the Governor’s security detail makes a decision on an event, we don’t question that determination. We have no further comment,” said Andrew Doba, a spokesman for Malloy.
