I’ve been reading all the yeas and nays of “doing something” in/to Syria. Shall the US military destroy the regime’s stockpiles of chemical weapons (using its magical ChemWeap Hum/ComInt assets, I presume)? Shall it make a “tactical” strike on Assad himself? Because that always worked really well in Iraq and Libya – everybody knows those guys never hide from American bombs. Or “we” could just randomly launch some Lockheed-brand* cruise missiles in the general direction of Damascus, because that’ll show’em, what’s good for Lockheed is good for America, and anyway what could possibly go wrong? Decisions, decisions.
In spite of no Syrian ever having done anything to me personally, I hereby propose the following resolution to the debate:
Drop Obama, McCain, and everybody else who thinks it’s a good idea to bomb Syria, on Syria. Cowboy hats, MP3 players loaded with “We’ll Meet Again” and dummy bombs for them to straddle optional at extra cost, to be borne by them personally.
The rest of us can then get on with our lives.
