Scary Manifesto that keeps getting pushed down on the sidebar by filthy capitalism!
They say that Louis XIV had the inscription Ultima Ratio Regum cast into all the cannon of the French Army. It means “The Ultimate Argument of Kings,” and that always struck me as one of the most honest and up-front things any ruler or would-be ruler ever said. “We can dress it up prettier than this, but when it comes down to the unvarnished truth this is what it’s about: You’ll do as I say or I’ll send my goons to kill you.”
I thought about that for a long time. If there’s an ultimate argument, it seems only logical that there must be an ultimate answer. For years I thought the ultimate answer must be the bullets in my rifle, but it never seemed quite right. I’ve got bullets – he’s got frigging Cannon Balls. I mean, if there were three hundred million rifles throwing bullets at him, then maybe. But we all know that’s not going to happen. So if there’s an ultimate answer to his ultimate argument, it sure as hell ain’t bullets.
It finally came to me – and that’s when I abandoned the city and most of my stuff, and gave all that was behind me a good stiff Randian Shrug.
The ultimate answer to kings is not a bullet, but a belly laugh.

Much ado about nothing, I think. The corrupt accusing each other of corruption. It would be interesting to learn who’s toes he stepped on.
It’s battlespace preparation. Try to tar him with felony charges (which even the NYT and the Austin-American Statesman are calling unjustified) so they can be thrown at him when he runs for President in ’16.
Gives the dude street creds – Hey, Republicans can be Gangsta too !
Getting arrested didn’t hurt a lot of politicians. Drug convictions, DUIs, Prostitution, etc – he’s just joining the long politician chain gang. I do wish someone would explain what law or laws Rick Perry broke. As in Penal Code Section Paragraph yada yada yada.
I’m far more interested in discovering and doing something about the real crimes… you know, those with an actual victim. Politicians worry each other about silly things like drugs and prostitution, but band together to protect each other from any real consequences of the theft, murder and lies they indulge in every day… by proxy, if not with their own soiled hands.
And then, if they step on someone’s toes, the “system” goes ballistic about paperwork problems. Big, hairy “corruption.”
I want to know how many people have died, how many lives have been destroyed, and how many people have lost everything they worked for due to the “lawful” and ordinary actions people like Perry carry out each day. That’s the corruption that bothers me – and that’s what I’d like to see them hung for.

😀
I don’t know much about Perry, and I certainly don’t have a dog in this hunt, but from what I could decipher, the charges against him are a complete joke and a travesty of justice.
Essentially, they are trying to say that a governor choosing to use the line-item veto power is committing the felony of “misappropriation of government funds,” which is just absolutely ludicrous.
I think the only argument that they are giving is that because Perry vetoed the line item, not because he didn’t think the agency needed the money, but to pressure the obviously corrupt and criminal head of that agency to resign, that he was denying taxpayers a service that they had paid for, for personal reasons. Which is obviously incorrect and silly as shit.
In any case, I think the case will hinge on whether or not the governor of texas has the power to line-item veto, which he totally does, and so the charges will either be dropped once the judge reviews them and finds them baseless, or alternatively, he will be acquitted at trial.
Either way, I feel pretty strongly that this is just an attempt to tar and feather him prior to a 2016 presidential run.
Which, again, I could fucking care less, except for the fact that a Perry loss could well mean another goddamned Clinton will be president again, since our country, for some reason, loves them a dynasty and the idea of “rule by blood (or name.)” Kennedy’s, Clintons, Bushes…
I thought we fought a war to rid ourselves of the idea of royalty, but whatever.
