All hail diversity, I suppose…

Though I must confess the only Spam I ever really cared for is Spam-flavored Spam. Every attempt to spice it up I’ve ever encountered just made things worse.

    Good heavens…

My husband and sons liked Spam, especially on camping trips for some reason. I never could enjoy it myself. In those days, there was only one kind. 🙂

  2. Ben says:

I’ve heard of wine snobs, but Joel might just be the world’s first Spam snob.

  3. Emily Summer says:

When I was a kid, we ate a lot of Spam. Didn’t know any better. My husband likes it and bought a whole case of the regular stuff in case of hard times. Enough salt in there to give me a stroke.

  4. Unclezip says:

Find some Cajun blackened seasoning. It will make your life better. The Baroness would not touch Spam until I introduced that recipe.

  5. Joel says:

No, no, I like Spam. People sneer at it because it’s pretty gross coming out of the can, I know. But fried in slices with eggs or cubed with potatoes and onions, it’s one of my very favorite foods I didn’t have to kill. The manufacturers keep dressing it up with other flavors (and what, I wonder, is the point of ‘Spam LITE?’) and every one I’ve ever tried is a step down. It’s just gilding the lily, as far as I’m concerned.

I agree Joel nothing beats Spam and eggs. Due to budget lately I have been reduced to Spams Dollar Store Cousin Amour Treet. Just as Tasty but a $1 less a can

  7. Joel says:

Hm, maybe I really am a snob. I’d dispute “just as tasty”…

  8. Tennessee Budd says:

Mmmm, fried Spam! Like okra, it’s only good fried, IMHO.
I think it’s what made those Vikings sing that song; that, and the mead.

  9. Matt says:

Spam is good eats. I agree spam flavored spam is best.

  10. Tahn says:

Aldi’s has a private brand of “luncheon meat” called Brookdale. Just as good as Spam but cheaper and much better than Treet but then you probably don’t have an Aldi’s out there in the desert.
