I got a solid six hours in today before the storm. Between baking, building and running over to S&L’s to tend to Ghost’s excretory needs, I almost but not quite finished the rough work on the addition’s south side.

Yeah, it looks kind of rough because that’s old 3/8 siding left over from the cabin siding job. I knew I had to piece around the door so I used the thin stuff and it’s kind of discolored but still sound. It’ll paint up just fine. And I’ve got to get some 4″ 90o flashing: My trick of putting the siding over metal flashing didn’t work at all with the thicker siding.
I was just putting the drip edge up when the lightning from the afternoon storm got too close for comfort. So there’s that one strip to the right of the door to do, but that’s the work of a few minutes. Just got the tools put away and windows closed when the rain started.
And look!

Little Bear has consented to enter the bedroom on his own. For days he refused to admit it existed.
The rain’s coming down in sheets but the lightning is still getting closer so I’m going to unplug the computer now.

Looking pretty good.
Next week LB won’t even remember when the Lair consisted of a single room. And when he discovers that the bedroom stays warm all night, that will instantly become the new normal.
LB looks pleased with himself!
Do you have a really good Isotel for your computer? Less than $100 and I think you can buy them on Amazon. I ask because when lightning hit in my yard it blew out my Isotel (had to get a new one) but saved the computer and everything else associated with it that was plugged into the Isotel.. They work and are worth the money. Don’t get one in a plastic box, only metal.
Just wait till LB takes to crawling in bed with you…
