An Alongside Night movie? Really?

I’ve got nothing against Schulman, but the truth is I barely remember Alongside Night, and what I remember about it is that it wasn’t very good. It’s a talky, self-important (IOW, pretty typical) tome about AnCap economic theory thinly disguised as a forgettable adventure story. I’ve got a .pdf copy I never read.

I see though, via Wendy McElroy, that somebody’s shooting a movie version.

Starring Kevin Sorbo. The only thing I remember about him is a couple of ridiculous Hercules episodes and that he managed not to be the worst feature of Meet the Spartans, a movie for which I’ll never forgive Landlady’s son. Nice looking guy, seems comfortable in front of a camera, but apparently can’t buy a decent role. But he’s got to be in his forties or fifties, and the protagonist of Alongside Night is a high school student. So that’s confusing.

This must be some earnest Libertarian’s vanity project. Wonder if we’ll ever hear about it again?

You shouldn't ask these questions of a paranoid recluse, you know.
