An Updated American Tune…

I wish I had half this lady’s talent for snark.

Oh, beautiful for drone-filled skies
A tax code so arcane!
A voting class on their fat ass
From Houston to Fort Wayne!
America! America!
You voted stuff for free
You made your bed, ye overfed
Go watch some more TV!

You shouldn't ask these questions of a paranoid recluse, you know.

  1. Paul Bonneau says:

I always enjoyed the neighborhood (as opposed to “official, sanctioned”) fireworks. Nothing like breaking the law with rockets and other explosives. I notice Tannerite is getting popular in stores where I never used to see it before.

  2. Tam says:

Fireworks were more fun to set off in Georgia, where they were illegal, than TN or IN, where they are not. I miss the twice-a-year bootleg runs to the AL or TN borders to pick up our scary explosives.

    It was more Independence-y.

We wuz camped on the river in Iowa where ‘works are definitely frowned upon to the extent that they actually write tickets for it. However, we proceeded to go boom for a couple hundred bucks’ worth of zoom-flash-bang-sparkle “oooohhhh, aaaahhhhhh” fun.

And if they cannot take a joke, well . . .

    😉
